I have a confession to make. I don’t really like YouTube. Shocking right? I won’t get into it tonight, but there’s quite a few things about a great many videos that bother me for a variety of reasons. But that’s not what I’m here to talk about. In the next few days, I’m going to release the first in what I hope will become a series of videos that I’m calling TechSupportLamer.
Recently a lot of people have been asking questions about how to hack their Switch and not get banned. I don’t play online games much, and never did on the Switch before I got banned, so I never gave it much thought, and wasn’t really looking forward to doing a whole video on a topic I didn’t really care too much about. So I got to thinking how I could make it more fun to record.
The idea I came up with was to make the first tutorial on what you can do to make sure you get banned. I would make it in a way that you could learn how not to get banned, by doing the opposite of what I said. At first I was just going to do it in my normal style and include a note in the description and a written tutorial on how to avoid a ban. From there it evolved into a full fledged YouTube parody. A character with a nonsense GamerTag name, who embodies all the things about YouTube that make me cringe.
So I invented JeffRoxx69 and just had him play the part of a narcissistic entitled frat boy, who genuinely wants to help you get banned so that you don’t have it hanging over your head anymore. It’s still great advice to ignore, and it was great fun to record. I hope you enjoy watching this next video at least half as much as I enjoyed making. As a special teaser, here’s the awful, dubstep intro (as opposed to my normal awful, chiptune intro):
If you enjoy the video, stick around for the “bloopers” afterward.
